No, the 400m will tap your energy store for the race, but your body will have enough energy for a short sprint. But what will help you the most is a good nights rest and stay out of the Sun so it won’t zap your energy while waiting for your run event. Stay warm and hydrated. Know what time your racing and warm-up and stretch just before it’s you time. My coach used to give us a Boost energy drink about an hour before we ran the mile run at meets, but that was because the mile was normally the last event and we were waiting a long time without eating.
