Should i go self employed and subcontract to my employer?

Your boss can’t just decide that you are self employed if the terms of your relationship with him have not changed. This is just a way for him to avoid paying NI, hloiday pay, sick pay and redundancy pay and to not have to insure you. Only HMRC can decide whether or not you are self employed and I would want to see the ruling from them to your employer that they are happy with this arrangement.
