I’m in my college’s marching band now for the third year. I was in high school marching band for 4 years. That’s 7 years of marching band – 8 this fall. I’m telling you now that style changes *all the time.* There’s nothing wrong with that and it’s not worth getting upset over – it’s just something different. Also, this would be a good experience for you to learn how to deal with someone difficult. I had to deal with a new director my junior and senior years that sounds a lot like yours and it helped me learn how to deal with someone like that, which is great because I can better handle those people when I come across them now.
