It is available for free download, so that is correct. Before you spend any money, make sure your computer actually meets the RECOMMENDED requirements to play the game. If it does, if the hard copy of SoA is cheap (say less than $10) it may be worth getting it. I am saying this because the download is HUGE and a lot of people have been having all sorts of weird issues with it. If you opt for the download, though, you can find alternate downloads via torrent or at fileplanet. As to which is better, the only difference is in terms of patches. If you install SoA you will automatically be set to download all of the patches as SoA is very old. If you download it online you’ll only be bothered with a couple of patches. Personally, whenever I’ve needed to reinstall the game, I haven’t gone the download way as it always gives me problems. I use my old CDs from when the game released. Additionally, it is NOT a PC game. It’s an MMO. This means you will need to have an active internet connection
