Should i get frozen, live or freeze dried fish treats?
Freeze dried doesn’t require any refrigeration. probably the least nourishing of the three. Frozen is the next best with nutrients for the fish after live. You need to defrost it before using, and you can’t refreeze it and retain much of its quality. Live is the best nutritionally, but you have to have a parasite-free source. Microworms are good for fry and small fish. They are easy to grow, but can be smelly. You need to get a starter culture from someone. The fish go nuts over them. I use them a lot. Freshly hatched brine shrimp are slightly larger. I think they are more trouble to grow than microworms, but they don’t smell. Most people that I know prefer them to microworms, probably because of the smell. You can get the eggs and directions at a pet shop. White worms are like very tiny earthworms. You can often find them under decaying leaves, but most people get a starter culture from someone. They are very easy to multiply. Very rich, so don’t feed them every day. Fish go nuts over
