I would get a syrian hamster as they are very nice and cuddly. When tamed properly they can make fantastic pets and can live for around 3 years. They are quite low maintenance and live for around 2-3 years. They must be kept alone as they will fight with each other. They require quite a large hamster cage with bars small enough apart that they can’t escape. A dwarf hamster must be kept in pairs as they will become lonely when alone. They can also be tamed and will become a lovely pet but they can be a bit more nippy than syrian hamsters and they may fight with eachother if they don’t get on. Syrian The Syrian Hamster is sometimes referred to as the ‘Golden Hamster’ due to its original wild golden colouring although today there are many different colour and coat mutations.
