Regular puppy food provides them with too much protein allowing them to grow too quickly which can damage large breed joints and bones. Large breed puppy food controls the rate of growth to a steady, healthy pace. Even if your dog would have been mixed with a toy poodle, which is asinine – it would be a mess if that were the case and not decent breeder would ever do that – it is still a Lab mix, which is a LARGE BREED!
