If you keep all your references in one library you can take advantage of the term lists associated with the author, journal title and keyword fields. This makes it easier when manually entering new references and also handles journal title abbreviations better. It is a good idea to import the journal term list(s) into a newly created library before any references are added to it. See the EndNote user manual for details on how to do this. If you need to be able to distinguish between references in a single library you can use the label field, or one of the custom fields, for project information etc. The maximum number of references that can be held in an EndNote library is 32,000. If your library is likely to contain more than this then you will have to split it into separate libraries.
