Should I choose a regular college or art school?
I’m not sure you actually are giving yourself all the options with just these two. You could go to a regular college and major in studio arts. I have a friend who has a degree in painting, and she is a representative for a design center that handles several lines of luxury fabrics and wall coverings. She calls on interior design companies and shows samples, updates their sample libraries, etc. There are lots of positions like this where your studio art degree would position you well, because a strong aesthetic sense is essential in working with the interior designers. You can do your art in your personal life. In fact everything about your personal life can revolve around creating art and socializing with other artists, having shows, etc. I would always opt for the accredited four year colleges/ universities.
