Should I carry McDonalds applications in my pocket to distribute to bums who ask me for change?
It’s highly unlikely that McDonalds or anyone else would hire most of the people who are out asking for change. Additionally, most of them are so impaired by alcohol or drug addiction and by psychological problems that they are incapable of holding a steady job. There are means by which these people can be given the tools to deal with their addictions and psychological problems such that they can integrate into normal society. However, handing out McDonalds applications isn’t going to accomplish anything but to help you feel superior to the homeless and to give you a “funny” story to share with your over privileged friends.
