Should I Buy MacBook or MacBook Air?
I strongly suggest a MacBook over the MacBook Air. I own a MacBook and, believe me, it is portable enough for your needs. Moreover, with the “regular” MacBook you might have, for the same money of the Air, much more computing power (CPU with higher Ghz) as well as a MUCH bigger Harddisk (which is always handy). Battery performance might be a little less (mainly because of the different screen technology). I wouldn’t buy a MacBook Pro since an update (and that answers the last part of your question) is due soon. For further infos I suggest you visit the link i posted here. Enjoy your Mac, and do not buy an Acer laptop. Macs are more expensive (true) but you get a lot more for your money and they are much more future proof. I have owned and used windows machines (Sony Vaio among others) for some years until December 2006 when I got my MacBook.
