im 14, but ive been riding for over 8 years. If you are a competant rider, then a “push button” horse as you put it is probably not going to help you to improve your riding. I think that re-schooling a thougherbred horse may be a little difficult – i have helped to school a horse before, and i needed quite a lot of guidance meaning that this will also work out quite expensive for you, as i think that you will need help from a qualified instructor in order to train a new horse properly. Also, you need to consider the temperment of an ex racehorse, and how he might be on the ground also. there are of course other options; for instance you could buy a young horse, so that it is not a horse which you wont learn anything from, but also will be less of a gamble. A young horse that is still green will also help your riding more than a push button horse, and you can help him. i think that this would probably be the best option for you – green horses are usually less money aswell, and you proba
