Your Explorer is generally a reliabile vehicle. Warranty companies are in business to make money, just like whoever you work for, and the Ford dealers too. We all need to pay the mortgage. That said, a warranty is worth as much as the *coverage* and the *price* combination. Unfortunately for Fords, there’s about 100 different underwriters for the warranties, and 100000 brokers for them. Do a Google search for Ford Warranty and you’ll see what I mean. I find it wise, personally, to never use an “agent” of an underwriter, as you’ll pay higher prices. Always go direct. And beware, companies like Warranty Direct are still agents. 🙂 Still confused? So is everyone. It’s a very tricky business. Your Ford dealer has some for sale as well, and trust me when I tell you they will double their cost if not more on every one they sell. Right now, at your age/mileage, your vehicle is getting to the category of “hard to warranty” because of its age/mileage and your companies will be a little more lim
