Should I buy a kayak or a slat-bottom inflatable dinghy?

I own a 3 metre inflatable with a 3 piece plywood floor, it is made by Zodiac and I use a small outboard. Easy to inflate and fits the car boot. I have used it on rivers, lakes and in the sea as far apart as Northumberland and Devon. It’s great fun as long as you don’t overload it. Stable enough for fishing and fun in the surf! My son owns a kayak which he enjoys but it’s not as versatile as my inflatable.
