Should I avoid wearing eye makeup to a contact lens exam?

Not wearing eye makeup is matter of personal taste. Removing makeup is not required. If you already wear contact lenses then there will be no practice required. Sometimes makeup gets smudged when either you or the person who fits you inserts or removes the contact lens, and rinsing or washing your hands and the contact lenses may be required. There is, however, no health issue and nobody should force you to remove makeup.

Oh yes please don’t wear any. I made the mistake of wearing some when I had to practice getting them in. WOW, yeah I got them in but I look like I got beat up after having my eyeliner and mascara run from using the contact solution and the couple tries it to me to get them in. I was happy I got them in, just could of saved myself from the running of the eye makeup and I had to keep cleaning them at the fitting to get the make up off that got in them.

When i first got my contact lenses my eye doctor told me for my fitting not to wear any eye make up Because i was wearing makeup for my exam.. it matters because when u are trying to put ur contacts in u may get some of the make up on the lense n that will irritate ur eye..

It matters, yes. Makeup will have to be removed anyway to practice getting your lenses in. Makeup is applied only AFTER you have your contacts in. There is hardly anyway to avoid getting your lenses covered with it otherwise.
