The Supreme Court of Canada will go a long way toward answering that question this week, in a ruling that could make people think twice about the way they socialize. At issue is a lawsuit filed by Zoe Childs, an Ottawa-area woman who was 18 years old when a drunk driver smashed into the car she was riding in early on the morning of Jan. 1, 1999. Her boyfriend Derek Dupre was killed and Childs was left a paraplegic.
