Should horses be contained in pastures with barbed wire fences?
-It is best that you don’t put up barbed wire fence since manes and tails can be caught and torn out if the animal rubs against it. The worst scenario is that rusted barbed wire could cause serious injuries, which may lead to major infections or life long scares, if the horse tries to go through the fence and get tangled up in it. Many of these injuries could take months or years with healing, depending on the severity.
