Should Holter or Loop-Event Monitoring be ordered?
Holter monitoring is for evaluating arrhythmias that occur daily. However, patients with infrequent arrhythmias or transient symptoms often go undiagnosed with Holters, because they do not experience their symptoms during the short monitoring period. Cardiac Loop-Event Monitors on the other hand offer 14 days of ECG recording, to catch intermittent symptoms.
