Should high school students (undergrads) include cash in cards when attending friends graduation receptions?

Usually high school students do not have enough money to give every one of their friends that graduates, a nice monetary gift. My daughters went to the dollar tree and picked out 3 or 4 items to make a nice candle garden or bath set and bought a gift bag. It’s the thought that counts, not a major bank debt. Go, enjoy, take time to be with your friend, and take a small thoughtful token gift.
