Should hate crime legislation apply to religion?
Yes, I agree that religion is a personal choice unlike the color of our skin. However, do you truly not believe that legislation should not defend the right to choose a religion? A crime by one who hates another because of religion is still a hate crime and should be punished as such. This country was founded by those who chose differing religious choices, has laws to support individual choices, and should have laws to support those injured by religious hatred. I is obvious that you have never been a victim of hate crime due to religious choices. For that, I am happy because it is horrible to be victimized for such!! I hope you find peace in your heart.
