Should Great Train Robber Ronnie Biggs be released from prison?
No – He was sentenced to 30 years in prison even if he’d served his full sentence he would have been let out of prison in 1993. He served two in the 1960’s before escaping and laughing at the authorities in England from Brazil. He only came back from England because he had no money and needed health care that is not free in Brazil. He has been back here since 2001. He has been petitioning since 2005 for release claiming death was imminent!!! He will be released in Aug 2009 when he has served 10 years. For some reason because it was the 1960’s and a film has been made people forget that this was a violent attack and £2.6 million was stolen which in 1963 was a huge amount of money. Personally I would have left him in Brazil to rot but as he is here make him serve his sentence if he dies in prison tough.
