Should Grandparents have a say so in the raising of their grandchildren?

0

I am a grandparent. I try really, really hard to keep my mouth shut unless I’m asked for advice, but sometimes it just slips out. Although, I still try to let both my son and the mother of my grandson (they are not together anymore) know that I realize I don’t have any say or rights in what they do or don’t do with regards to my grandson. I try to make sure they know that I’m willing to help if they need it, but otherwise it’s up to them to decide how to raise him, not me. Fortunately, both my own mom and my mil were really kind, sweet women and I never really had to experience what some new mothers have to when their mom or mil criticize. Maybe that’s why I know that I have to step back and keep my mouth shut. But I can still give him all the hugs, kisses and attention that I want.
