Should Gordon Brown be giving poorly India £800M development aid over the next 2 years?

I was phoned one night by someone bleating about something that blights crops in India every20 years or so.Despite me saying more than once that I support several charities in this country and really cannot afford another penny, this guy kept on and on. In the end I told him to phone me back when he had phoned all the Patels, Singhs in the phone book. There are enough of them over here to support their fellow country men back in India. He got the message then! Charity begins at home and it is about time misery guts Brown stops spending our money on lost causes abroad. That £800M would be better off getting people of the streets who have to live rough. Our wounded troops that need newspapers to raise funds for them, Mending heritage buildings that are falling down through lack of funds,The Salvation Army, NSPCC,sanctuariesdline, Animal sancturies, etc All these organisations are crying out for funds.
