Should Glenn Blaylock run for Governor of Texas?

0

Glenn has stated some very good reasons of his own for not being interested in the position. Those aside, there’s a reason that I have for thinking that he would not be suitable for the job. I’m of the opinion that anyone who wishes to run for, or hold public office, representing any particular community, ought to be someone who is very solidly an established member of that community. Glenn currently lives in Texas, but I would not consider him to be, at this time, a solidly-enough member of the Texas community to presume to represent Texas. He was born and raised in California, and has spent a good part of his adult life living in a few other states (primarily Utah); and only moved to Texas a few years ago. He would be better qualified, in my opinion, to represent California or Utah, than to represent Texas; though I don’t think he’s well-enough rooted in either of these states either, at this point.
