Should genetically modified foods (gm foods) be allowed to sell in the general market?
I did a research paper on genetically modified foods, and most of the resources I found were against creating and selling these types of products because of the fear it would alter their own genes and bodies. The rest were scientists saying there have been tests, and they show that gm foods don’t harm the consumer. I personally think that gm foods are great because it is a start to ending world hunger. If we can modify food to where it can be grown in places it would otherwise be nearly impossible to grow that is amazing. Plus, with the economic recession we are experiencing, gm foods would create a cheaper alternative to organic foods. I know that they probably aren’t the best, but it beats paying an extra $4 for food that tastes the same and gives you the same nutrients. And we are eating tons of hormones that are pumped into meat anyway, so is this any worse?
