Absolutely. And until there’s an across-the-board evaluation process for all potential parents one can’t make the assertion that heterosexual parents, by default, would have increased ability and skills to raise a child properly. I’ve known a lot of straight parents who had no business raising a child, but by the default of biology were able to reproduce to their hearts’ content and who’s children will most likely not be productive members of society as a result. I’d also be more inclined to believe a child would benefit more from having two parents of the same sex who could support each other in the child rearing process than having a single parent who had less support in both the emotional and financial realms. To me, it all comes down to parenting ability…some people are good parents, some are awful and sexuality is rarely a factor in that skill set.
