On March 14th, the Tidewater Community College Lady Storm won their fourth consecutive Virginia Community College System (VCCS) conference championship. Tidewater Community College was led by Tournament MVP Ashley Miles and defeated Northern Virginia Community College 53-51 to win the tournament championship. I had the chance to talk briefly with Lady Storm head coach, Curtis McGill concerning the Tidewater Community College Lady Storm program amidst their recent success. How long have you been coaching, both overall and at TCC? I started out in the military – I am a 20-year military vet. I played basketball for the Navy and overseas and once I tore my ACL, I became interested in coaching because of my love for the game. So I started coaching men’s basketball around 1984.
