Should french fries and other unhealthy foods be banned in high school cafeterias?

I don’t think they should be completely banned, but maybe less of the unhealthy foods should be served. Most schools use processed food in their kitchens because it is cheaper and easier to prepare. As a result, the kids have to sacrifice and they can gain weight which leads to bullying and other self esteem issues. I understand that you must keep the price of school lunches reasonable, but I think most schools could make a better effort and finding better food for students. It wouldn’t kill the cafeteria ladies to make some things from scratch like some FRESH fruit salad instead of the canned variety. They could also prepare foods ahead of time in the week and keep it in the refrigerator until the time of use instead of freezing everything. Offering healthier options in the lunch line could also be a choice. If kids still want to choose the unhealthy food, that is fine, but at least you have giving the students a chance to make healthy decisions instead of just serving them processed
