Should foreign interest groups be banned from attempting to influence the course of American government?

Foreign interest groups are definitely not always opposed to the interests of American companies and citizens. For example, an interest group representing Israel’s interests would be in line with the ideas and desires of many American citizens. So would an interest group that represents the interests of Ireland. I do not think that foreign interest groups should be banned. If what they are asking for is opposed to the interest of some group or groups of Americans, the Americans should form their own interest groups to combat the foreign ones. I do not believe that the US government would act in ways that were directly opposed to the interests of America just because a foreign lobby asked them to.
