Should fast food ads be banned from TV altogether and not just children programs?
I don’t believe so. People will eat fast food whether it’s advertised or not. With regards to children eating it, it’s generally bad parential influence, i.e. eating junk food themselves. Afterall, parents are the house role models. Good eating habits and exercise comes from watching the family do the same. Yes, there will always be external pressures – adverts, pier pressure, but as long as good healthy food is served when a child comes home. They’re on a good path. I am curious as to the only in the US comment. UK and Ireland are catching up fast and for the first time in a very long time average age expectancy has dropped in UK and Ireland with approx 25% teenagers over weight.
