Should extended time be allowed for a student if it is written in his/her IEP or 504 plan?

All students are allowed extended time on the KCCT up to the end of the school day. On the CTBS, students are allowed extended time IF it is on the IEP or the 504 plan that they are to have extended time on assessments. Scores of such students should be interpreted within this context. Parents of such students should understand that this accommodation does alter the conditions under which the test was supposed to have been administered. Is it safe to provide accommodations on the test in every subject for which students receive accommodations on a regular basis (in or out of the resource room) as long as the subject is listed in the IEP? If the specific conditions of the IEP require such accommodations and IF the accommodations have been implemented all year long, then they may be used on the assessment providing they are assessment appropriate accommodations.
