Should equipment (R&TTE) bear a (CE) conformity marking?
R&TTE equipment, complying with the relevant essential requirements of the R&TTE Directive shall bear the CE marking which purpose is to indicate its conformance with these requirements:If it concerns radio equipment that uses frequency bands the use of which is not harmonised throughout the Community and/or that is subject to restrictions on the intended use put on by one or more Member States, only placing on the market is allowed throughout the Community.With regard to the putting into service of these types of equipment the “alert sign” shall be added to the CE marking:Depending on the conformity assessment procedure followed by the manufacturer the identification numbers of the relevant Notified Bodies shall be included in the CE marking.Note: the equipment has to comply also with other relevant Directives, which also is indicated by the CE marking.
