Should Education for Leisure by Carol Ann Duffy be removed from the GCSE english anthology?
I can confirm that the latest edition of the AQA Anthology has omitted the highly controversial “Education for Leisure” by Carol Ann Duffy, due to its violent connotations with knife attacks. Quite right, too, because thousands of kids my age would otherwise be studying this poem that basically glorifies people stabbing each other. At such a sensitive time for the British population, the decision could not have come sooner, in my opinion.
