For the second year running, Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s men have crashed out of the T20 World Cup without winning a single game in the Super 8s. For once, Captain Cool appeared bereft of ideas both on and off the field. The follies in the field can be pardoned but the shocking excuse of IPL parties taking a toll on his players didn’t go down well with the media or the Indian cricket administrators. A day after Dhoni’s statement, a prominent newspaper carried a front page report where top sources in BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) claimed that Dhoni could be removed as the T20 and One-Day Internationals captain.
