Should countries stop aid to countries with ever expanding populations with no chance to sustain them?

Certainly, great care should be taken when giving out aid. Most of the time, DFID gives money to charitable/NGO parties in various countries rather than handing a big novelty cheque over to the government. I think its worth investing in organisations the promote good governance and its also worth supporting governments that work to have a sustainable infrastructure – having enough resources to feed its population. My experience with NGOs in West Africa taught me that one of the main influences on population increase was the absence of sex education – a taboo subject amongst Christians and Muslims, despite DFID working hard to increase the use of Condoms. I’m waffling a little, but I guess what I’m saying, is that giving money to nations and suggesting that it go towards a sustainable economy with a sensible population is not entirely unreasonable.
