Should comparative religion be taught in schools?

Comparative religion should. A lot of literature surrounds the bible. No denying that. It is classical literature. Also to deny religion has no hold or relevance in the world is outrageous. Religion has the biggest cultural influence on people next to race and geographical location. Comparative religion is a good course to teach. You just have to label it as “Religion” or make it an elective. Not make it an enforced class.

No. Religion should not be taught in any form or fashion in schools. You can see the havoc religion has caused in our own lifetimes. Why instill such crap in the heads of our youth? Schools are to teach us how to deal with real life. Things like how money is generated and distributed (economics), how to tie your shoes (ergonomics), how to tell the difference between voting for the “American Idol” and the “American President” (common frikken sense). These simple things would go a long way in remaking America to the country it used to be.

They should, but the parents would go apeshit, since the kids would most likely realize that religion is foolish.

In an unbiased way. My friend takes Comparative Religion in school.
