Should child killers face a mandatory death sentence ?
“We wouldn’t be civilised if we treated uncivilised people uncivilly.” This sense of logic doesn’t work anymore: we don’t live in Socrates’ age; why would we treat uncivilized people civily? Because it’s what’s rationale. Not because we’re barbarians. The death sentence is very clean and precise in modern times. This isn’t Stalinist Russia, where criminals (along with mistaken innocent ones) are beaten horribly to death and made to work in gulags. We must accept that part of this society isn’t civilized and when they go on to harm the innocent-then it’s logical to cease their existence; why should we the innocent, just, civilized, hard-working people take on the burden of such fallaced people through millions to billions in tax dollars (that can be put into better use through education or healthcare), through them commited further and possibly more horrible crimes when they are released upon us the civilized as statistics show, or through taking up resource and never replenishing it.
