Should child benefit be means tested in the UK?

Nope, I do not and it was done that way purposely for a reason so that the money would always be available for a child to eat regardless if you think about relationships where one partner controls the money etc sorry it should be an absolute benefit which it is and the reason why it is not means tested is that it is a qualifying benefit say a woman left a rich but abusive husband if cb was means tested she would have to apply for that before applying for other benefits and I think it takes about a month for it to be processed that’s a long time for a child not to eat properly if at all
