Should certain types of art be censored?

Generally speaking, no, I don’t believe so. It’s a form of creation and should be treated as an expression of such. However, I remember a few years ago there was an artist who created a portrait of Myra Hindley using thousands of photocopies of children’s hand prints. That was tasteless, and just intended to shock. It had no aesthetic value. I don’t consider that art. True art, however, should not be censored, no. Edit: Something that has some form of talent in its creation, rather than simply the rehashing of somebody else’s work (the portrait in this case was Hindley’s mug shot) with the attempt of shocking people. That’s been done by Duchamp and others years ago and it doesn’t work anymore. It’s not new. Does that answer your question?
