Should capital punishment be re-introduced in Australia?
We have it some of the more backward States here in the US, and it is a travesty. The states that actually use it have a much HIGHER murder rate, per capita. Many of those on death row and close to or have been executed are proven innocent, and it costs the tax payer 10 times MORE to execute than to sustain them for life (without the possibility of perole). I don’t know about Australia, but here in the US it seems like every week there is someone being released for ultimately being found innocent; and those are only the ones we find out about! Besides, God said “though salt not kill”.
