Should business process outsourcing (BPO) be incorporated in the information and communication technology (ICT) outsource?

In many instances, outsourcing an entire function is the most effective choice for management and is becoming increasingly popular particularly in Finance and HR. The decision should be driven by managements view on what it believes its privileged assets are. If management believes that others can provide back office services at a better economic balance of cost, performance and risk, it should outsource them. A single package of BPO and ICT outsource is often easier to manage in day-to-day and contractual terms and usually provides greater degrees of freedom in transformation situations. And many outsourcing firms will themselves outsource either the BPO or the ICT to ensure access to the best in the market.
