Yes! Yes! Yes. This is without a doubt a unique circumstance that must be rectified. Let’s look at the facts. Fact 1: It was a missed call. Replay illustrates he was out by a step. Fact 2: The Umpire agrees that he blew the call. Fact 3: The outcome of the game will not be affected if the play is reversed and a perfect game is awarded. Fact 4: No one loses anything if the play is reversed. The following chain of events needs to occur. 1: Jason Donald needs to say he is willing to have his hit ruled an out and award a perfect game to Galaragga. 2: The umpire needs to make a formal statement to Bud Selig and the MLB that he missed the call and it should be reversed. 3: The Tigers organization, on behalf of Galarraga, should appeal the call.
