National service yes – if this was living in a camp with army style discipline and training and including working for the community. It should not mean going into the army and fighting – although this could be an option the teenagers could choose after finishing their time at the camp. No one should be forced to join an army. No one has the right to order a human being to kill another human being unless there is choice about entering an armed service.
