Should Britain convert to “Pedal power” for green energy?

I’m not quite sure how “we”, the collective we, decided that all problems should have a single solution. There is certainly room for increasing the “pedal power” solution in most industrialized nations however. I’m not convinced that it is a practical replacement for the else wise powered vehicle. Nor, am I convinced that it would be a functional alternative power source for many of the things most of us are accustomed to both at home and in the work place. On the other hand, it could be used much more often as a personal transportation alternative. The primary obstacle that comes up is saftey for both the rider/driver and the bike itself when parked. The next obstacle is how does one present ones self after a sweaty, or wet and windy, bike ride to say work, shopping, or more… Certainly, these are the arguments/excuses that I hear most often about folks not pedaling a bike to various places more often. In part, over coming this second obstacle requires a bit of a cultural change. And
