Should B.C. seize impaired drivers cars?
The B.C. government is looking at its own version of an Ontario law that allows for the seizure and sale of vehicles owned by people convicted of impaired driving. The Ontario law requires drivers who’ve had three impaired driving convictions in 10 years to forfeit their vehicles to the province, which can then sell them. B.C. Solicitor General John Les said he is considering adopting similar legislation for B.C. that could be used against those with an established pattern of driving while impaired. Ultimately, any decision to seize a vehicle would have to be made by a judge in court, said Les. Full Story What do you think?
