Should arranged marriages regardless of religion be outlawed 100% in the UK?
Well basically i think forced and arranged marriages are not a good thing. Looking at it logically if someone agrees to an arranged marriage it is because they have been indoctrinated by their parents, so surely in a way that is forcing them. They would not like to upset their parents, the preacher, their relatives. I believe everyone should have the opportunity to get to know and love the person they are going to spend the rest of their life with. In the same way i think any religious groups, who do not allow their children to marry into a different religion are using the same sort of pressure. For instance, a catholic and a protestant, not as much nowadays, but i have known people to be cut off from their families for marrying the wrong person. I personally have been married by choice to someone i met at 15, for 41 years and have never regretted it.
