Should an 11 year old girl shave her armpits?
In my opinion, that’s completely up to her. If the hair bothers her, she could go ahead and start shaving. I would have an older teenager or adult woman show her how, just to make sure she doesn’t cut herself. Make sure she doesn’t apply deodorant right away afterward that can be pretty irritating to the skin. Give it a good 30 minutes or so to rest before applying it. Dove has a deodorant that is supposed to make the underarms softer and smoother, so that’s another option to look into if irritation is a problem. I would go a few days (or even a week) between shaving at first. You don’t want to irritate the skin. If she’d like to continue shaving permanently, then she can gradually work up to shaving as often as she showers. On the other hand, if the hair doesn’t bother her at all, I don’t think she should feel obligated to shave it. In my opinion, there’s nothing wrong with a woman having hair on her body. It should be completely up to her, and she shouldn’t let what anyone else says
