Should America look to other countries for economic answers?
Well, to some extent we should. Certain countries are certainly doing better in certain areas. When we think about health care, for example, many countries have a far more effective system and are spending less than us. A great example is Japan, a system not many people seem to talk about. But that’s just one sector. People are probably going to say that the best response is to reduce spending, and to an extent that’s also correct. But when it comes to ensuring that our economy is on the positive side of the spectrum, this is patently false. Bringing jobs back and ensuring that our country is making rather than hemorrhaging money is a big factor in our recovery, and neither can be accomplished without huge expenditures.
