Should America force China to free Tibet?
Tibet is an autonomous region of China. Much like our territories are. Tibet has historical ties to China Tibet is not considered soverign by any country, the UN or the Dali Lama himself. Prior to Chinas invasion in the early 50’s, Tibet was a religious tolitarian dictatorship where the people had no say in their lives or countries future. Today they have considerably more freedom and say then anytime in their history. Tibet wants to be more self governing. Something China has been slowly giving them at their own pace, not the instant gratification pace the west wants. We’ve seen what kind of havoc that plays in the two countries we invaded. Fact: China has pledged to the world and its people they will not invade a sovereign country. Obviously we have made no such pledge. Fact: China has stated they believe in a countries right to self determination. Obviously we have made no such statement. Your question is indicative of the way our government thinks.
