Should Alexa Ray Joels MySpace Posts Been Read More Carefully?
Months before attempting suicide, Billy Joels’ daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, wrote some things on her MySpace –> page that indicated she was having a difficult time meeting men and that is was bothering her. Her MySpace page read, in part, I always have to drag myself out the door to get up the motivation to go out, and when I do go out, I don’t meet anybody!” On some level, Joel’s Myspace post sounds mostly like a typical lament of a frustrated young single woman, pretty indistinguishable in meaning from a typical opening line of an episode of Sex and The City. But as Joel recovers from her suicide attempt, those who love and care for her most certainly are wondering if they had missed any of the warning signs. As such, most everything Joel has said or done over the past year or so is probably receiving quite a bit of reflection tonight.
